Around 3,000 people are expected to attend the 20th Codnor fireworks display returning to the village on Friday, November 1.
The popular free-to-attend event at the Alfreton Road Recreation Ground, is to feature fair rides, a feast of food and a spectacular firework display to music by Spyrotechnics.
Organiser Codnor Parish Council has joined forces with Amber Valley Borough Council to stage this year’s spectacular event, which opens for fair rides at 6pm.
Leader of the parish council Cllr Chris Emmas Williams said: “We are very pleased to link up with Spyrotechnics again who have a fantastic reputation for innovative displays and they have promised us something special this year to recognise the landmark.
“This is now regarded as the best free local event of this nature in the area and its reputation grows every year.”
Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills is set to light the bonfire at 7.30pm, with the best Guy Fawkes competition judged by Cllr Peter Smith at 7.30pm.
The Spyrotechnics display is set for 8pm.
A road diversion will be in place from noon while fair rides are set up and there will be no on-site parking.
Attendees are advised not to bring their own fireworks to the event and there will be a separate area for supervised children to use sparklers.
