Crafts, games and a teddy parachute are among free activities at the Ripley British Legion branch first birthday celebration on Saturday.
All Saints Church is set to host the community day from 10 am until 2pm.
Rev Jason Kennedy said: “There are lots of activities taking place on the day and we would love to see lots of people having fun while learning about the range of ways we and groups in the town are seeking to assist them.”
Along with the entertainment on offer police officers will be on hand to offer crime prevention advice and a ‘poppy art’ competition is set to run for children, with the winning design used on a wreath at Remembrance Sunday.
Youngsters are invited to bring their own teddies along between noon and 1pm to take part in the parachute, which will see the toys make jumps from the top of the church.
Legion member Stuart Joynes said: “The Branch is very inclusive to the whole community in everything we do and this day provides a great opportunity for everyone to come along have a cup of tea and see what we are about.”
