A man has been ordered to pay £165 in fines and costs after he was caught riding a motorcycle without a full licence and insurance.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, September 1, how Scott Wilson, 20, of South Crescent, Duckmanton, Chesterfield, was stopped by a police officer on Woodhouse Lane, Bolsover.

Police interviewed Wilson, according to the court, and he admitted he was not insured and he did not have a licence for the motorcycle.

Wilson pleaded guilty to having no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence after he was stopped with a passenger during the incident on May 5.

The court heard how Wilson had not offered any mitigation before he was sentenced in his absence.

Magistrates sentenced Wilson to a £110 fine and ordered him to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £35 costs.

His licence was also endorsed with six points.
