Attempted robbery on Ripley teenager

A teenager was forced to flee after a woman attempted to snatch the rucksack off her back she walked through a Ripley park.

The 14-year-old girl was walking through the Moseley Street recreation ground at 12.45pm on Wednesday, January 15, when she was approached by a woman in her late 30s. The woman pulled at the bag straps but the teen pulled away and ran off. The would be robber, described as white with tanned skin, around 5ft 7 inches, of large build, with chin-length curly red hair made no attempt to follow her. She was wearing a white vest top and white leggings. Anyone with information is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101.
