Arrest after arson attack
32 Fletcher Street, Heanor.
A MAN has been arrested in connection with a fire at a house in Heanor.
Police said they were called to an address on Fletcher Street at about 1pm on Sunday after what is believed to be a petrol bomb was thrown at the door.
Officers said the house was empty at the time of the attack and no damage had been caused to the inside of the property.
Police are continuing to question the 27-year-old man who is from Langley Mill.
Police and fire crews were called to the house after two people were seen to throw what is believed to be a petrol bomb at the door.
There was no-one inside the address at the time and there was no internal damage caused to the house. The fire had been put out by the time the fire service arrived, said a police spokesman.
A joint investigation between police and the fire service is now under way.
Derbyshire police had said there is no link between this incident and the fire at Victory Road, Derby, in which five children died and another was seriously injured on Friday, May 11.
Anyone with information is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101.
