An Alfreton man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body in Ilkeston.

Jamie Elliott, 26, of North Street, Alfreton, appeared before magistrates in Derby on Saturday, charged with the murder of Nick Moss.

Mr Moss, 48, was found injured at a house in Canal Street at 9pm on Wednesday, January 30.

He was treated by paramedics but later died. A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from injuries suffered during an assault.

Collette Booth, 46, of Ilkeston, and Alan Chapman, 26, of Derby, are charged with conspiracy to commit GBH. Shortly before the News went to press a 23-year-old man was also charged with murder.

Detectives have produced an appeal leaflet which they will be distributing in the community this week.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward who saw two white men leaving the house around the time of the incident.

They are also asking people to ring in if they saw a silver vehicle in the area on the night of the murder. The two men were seen getting into the vehicle and driving off.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
