A Denby plastics company has been named as one of the top 200 fastest-growing firms in the UK.
HL Plastics was placed at 165 in the coveted Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, published this month.
Managing director Roger Hartshorn, 51, said: “We are doing very well – we spend a lot of money designing new products. We’re a local company with a good workforce that is growing. We have 340 people and are just building a new warehouse at the back of the factory. I’m proud we’re doing so well.”
The company was founded in 1974 and manufactures a wide range of specially-shaped plastic products.
Its main area of growth has been through the launch of a new thermally-efficient window system.
Other products include fencing and decking for the home and garden, bi-fold doors, caravan verandahs and sundecks. International sales have largely been to mainland Europe, and have seen growth of 27 per cent a year, from £1.4 million in 2009 to £2.2 million in 2011.
