Life Thru the Lens photos contest

It’s time to dust of the camera and get out snapping as we launch our Specsavers Life Thru the Lens readers’ photos contest again.

We staged the event for the first time last year and it was a runaway success. You certainly took the camera - and the mobile phone nowadays - out and about with you and snapped us many great pictures from the Ripley and Heanor area. And we’re hoping you can do the same this year.

We want you to take your pictures in the Ripley, Heanor and Alfreton area and show is just what living in this beautiful part of the the world means to you.

You might head off to Butterley to the Midland Railway Centre to capture a steam train in full flow or it could be the wildlife and scenery in Shipley Country Park. There are many, many more great places too - we know you’ll find them all for us. So get snapping.

Thanks to our sponsors - Specsavers opticians ofKing Street, Belper, there will be a top digital camera up for grabs for our winning shot, which will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Andy McBride director at Belper Specsavers said; “We’re really pleased to be sponsoring Life Thru the Lens again this year. The standards was excellent last time - but we know you’ll top that this time. We can’t wait to see your entries.

There will be two age groups this time - up to 18 s and 18 and over as there were so many great entries last time form young Ripley & Heanor News readers.
