Library reopens to public

A LIBRARY has reopened after having major refurbishments carried out on it.

Duffield Library, in Wirksworth Close, reopened on Friday after being closed for three weeks for the installation of new carpets and shelving.

Derbyshire County Council leader Andrew Lewer thanked residents for having patience while the work was carried out.

He said: “I am pleased we have been able to invest in our libraries which will benefit our users.

“Libraries are an important part of our community and it is important they are warm and welcoming.

“I hope people will come and see what is new, particularly those who have not been in a library for a while.

“They might be surprised.”
