Library is improved

ALFRETON Library has re-opened following improvements.

The Severn Square facility, which is one of several Derbyshire County Council libraries to be given a new look, had been closed for three days to have new shelves put in.

County council leader Cllr Andrew Lewer, thanked library users in the town for their patience while the venue was closed as the work was carried out.

He said: “I am pleased we have been able to invest in our libraries which will benefit our users.

“Libraries are an important part of our community and it is important they are warm and welcoming.”
