SIX jobs have been saved after a legal firm has stepped in to acquire the assets of a Stapleford firm.

Ellis-Fermor and Negus, which has a branch in Long Eaton, saved six of the 10 jobs at Chamber and Hinds, which closes its doors in Derby Road on Friday.

Partners William Skinner and Helen Prins and four staff will now move to Ellis-Fermor and Negus’s Long Eaton branch.

Partner Simon Hale, said: “We had already heard that Chambers and Hind were planning to close because of the difficult economic climate, with the loss of all jobs.

“So we were keen to rescue what we could of the business which has resulted in saving as many of the jobs as possible.”

Clients’ wills, deeds, files and business records have been transferred.
