Burglars took a haul of more than 30 electrical goods from Langley Mill Asda while the store was shut on Christmas Day.
Four raiders entered the supermarket at 5.30pm by forcing open a side fire door using crowbars.
They had arrived in a silver car from the direction of Wesley Street, police say.
The men then bundled thousands of pounds of stock into a duvet, including three Playstation 3 consoles and more than 20 tablet computers.
They left the scene in a matter of minutes.
Police described one of the men as wearing a grey tracksuit; another wore black tracksuit bottoms and a grey hooded top; the third man wore black tracksuit bottoms and a grey hooded top with purple stripes and the final man wore a black tracksuit.
Anyone with information is urged to call the force on 101.
