Sonara Singers soared to great heights at Chatsworth House raising almost £3,000 for the Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

The popular South Normanton ladies choir performed at the Painted Hall of the stately home on Saturday, July 6.

Musical Director Liz Moulder said: “It was a magical evening and very special for the choir to sing in the Painted Hall at Chatsworth.”

The choir showed versatility with a range of popular songs from shows including 16th century madrigals, through to pops songs by Adele. Sonara were joined by guest soloists James Wilson, flautist and clarinetist Ryan Clements.

Liz said: “We work very hard at rehearsals each Monday at the Post-mill Centre, South Normanton but it is very special to perform to an audience and extra special to also raise money for the Air Ambulance.”

Any ladies interested in joining the choir can speak to Geraldine Stamp on 01773 745559.
