OLYMPIC banners were presented to a world champion weightlifter as part of an event organised by the Heanor Festival Trust.
Every year the trust asks local schools to produce artwork for the town’s festival in June.
And this year youngsters from ten participating schools created 20 banners with an Olympic theme.
They will now be on display at Shipley Country Park visitors’ centre until the end of November.
The youngsters presented British 1964 Tokyo Games silver medal winner Louis Martin with the artwork on Friday.
Chairman of the Heanor Festival Trust, David Rowley said: “It was great of Louis to give up his time for the children.”
