AROUND 60 school children from Gilthill Primary School will be joining the deputy Mayor of Broxtowe to pick up litter in a Kimberley park.

As part of Broxtowe Borough Council’s Love Where You Live campaign, pupils from Giltbrook will join Cllr Margaret Handley at the town’s Windmill Park today, May 11.

Armed with litter pickers and bags they will learn how to keep the borough clean.

The event coincides with the school’s own work around the environment.

The Love Where You Live campaign is an initiative to encourage people to think about their communities and take action to reduce litter.

Signs will be put on 10 refuse vehicles, as well as on over 500 litter bins throughout the borough, encouraging people to pick up litter.
