EXCITED children are a YouTube hit as they try to get funding for a community garden at their school.

The youngsters from Mundy Junior School, in Heanor, have starred in a video clip to put across reasons why their school should earn a NatWest Community Force grant.

Now they need your help to secure the cash.

The children would sell some of the produce from the garden, and it would also be used in the school kitchen. It will also be open to the public seven days a week for anyone who wants to rent out a plot.

Teacher Jane Wells said: “It would be absolutely amazing to get funding. The kids have worked so hard at it.”
