THE POLITICAL make-up of Amber Valley Borough Council stayed the same after voters in 15 wards when to the polls yesterday as a third of seats were up for re-election.
Votes were counted today, with results showing the Tories will still run the authority. Seats up for election included ones in Ripley and Belper. Amber Valley elections its councillors in thirds.
The only surprise was in Heage and Ambergate where Conservative councillor Juliette Blake had chosen to stand down this time, with the ward being taking by Labour’s Maurice Gent.
