Jubilee Jam Jar pennies

With the jubilee celebrations still fresh in our minds, don’t forget to dig out our your pennies for our Jubilee Jam Jar Appeal.

We want you to donate your jars and pots of pennies to our Jam Jar Appeal so we can plant a tree, along with a commemorative plaque in Ripley and Heanor. We’d like to plant one in Alfreton too if we can raise enough money.

And that looks like being a possibility with the fund currently at £250. We’d said we’d like to raise £300 initially, but need to keep going if we are to raise enough for all three of our towns.

We have teamed up with Amber Valley Borough Council, which has agreed to find a fitting tree and venue – probably in the town’s parks.

We have enough time to keep collecting because the trees cannot be planted until the autumn. So there is plenty of time to dig down the back of the sofa and empty out those pots to find some pennies. We thought if everyone donated just a few pennies we would reach out target.

Drop off your pennies at our office at 27 Grosvenor Road, Ripley, or if you can’t make it give us a ring on 01773 514162.
