A man has been jailed after a 'senseless' aggravated burglary which left two pensioners terrified.
On December 30, 2015, an elderly couple was attacked in their Heanor home by a man wearing a facemask and brandishing what appeared to be a gun.
Robert Taylor, 40, of Pease Hill, Alfreton, was sentenced to seven years in prison for the crime when he appeared at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday.
After the case, Detective Constable Russ Garner, of Derbyshire Constabulary, said: "The victims were left traumatised by this attack.
"This was a senseless attack on two elderly people.
"Taylor has got a substantial sentence showing the seriousness of this offence."
