An Ironville woman went on a spending spree with her ex-boyfriend’s credit card and bought over £1,000 of items from Amazon, a court has heard.

Keeley Pryor, 21, of Openacre, admitted fraud by false representation at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on May 4.

Prosecuting, Ruth Snodin told the court the fraud was discovered when the was card declined on November 30 last year and Pryor’s ex-partner learned there had been 34 transactions made with Amazon, totalling £1,070.

Asif Munir, mitigating, said Pryor had mental health issues and had been suffering from depression.

District Judge Jonathan Taaffe said: “There’s a breach of trust involved in this matter.

“I take this at face value that this was an incident borne out of scorn.”

He fined her £110 and ordered her to pay compensation of £800, £85 costs and and a victim surcharge of £20, which will be deducted from her benefits.
