Invention to help baby condition

A Smalley physiotherapist has launched a new product aimed at preventing babies from developing so-called ‘flat head syndrome’.
Lorna Taylor devised the PosturePad Mama & Me cushion to help mums to place their tots on their stomachs when playing on the floor.
The idea for the invention was sparked in the wake of an increase in the condition, which results in flat spots in babies’ heads, over the past few years.
Lorna, a mum-of-three , says her cushion can also be used by pregnant women as a comfort aid.
She said babies spend too much time on their back or strapped into a car seat -both of which can cause the condition. She added: “Both of which can be avoided by increasing the amount of time babies spend on their tummies. The PosturePad is designed to encourage parents to help them do just that.”
