YOUNG fitness fans enjoyed a healthy activities as part of a national day aimed at keeping children fit.

Youngsters at Ripley Infants School on Kirk Close, were given lessons in tae kwon doe, dance and aerobics on Wednesday as part of the yearly event All Children Excercising Simultaneously (ACES). They also tackled an obstacle course and a three-mile walk. The projects aim to get children into activity and sport through their schools.

Gill Ball, PE co-ordinator at Ripley Infants said: “The children had a wonderful day.

They were using muscles they had never used before!”

All the school years took part in the day, which takes place on the first Wednesday of May every year.
