Indietracks steams ahead despite stormy skies

Organisers of this year’s Indietracks Festival in Ripley have hailed it a big success - despite concerns of a weekend wash-out.

The event, held at Midland Railway – Butterley attracted more than 1,000 music fans.

Development officer for the Midland Railway Trust Alan Calladine, said: “ Our huge museum complex at Swanwick Junction is an ideal venue for events like this. Most of the important facilities are already there and the arena like shape of the land give an great spot for the stage.

“I hope that we will be able to attract more varied activities like this that will make this part of Derbyshire a great destination for visitors.”
