Trade unionists and campaigners took to the streets of Chesterfield at the weekend for the annual May Day rally.

Led by Ireland Colliery brass band, they paraded through the town centre on Monday to raise awareness about a number of causes, before speeches and live music in New Square.

This year’s parade marked 40 years since May Day was declared a bank holiday.

It was organised by Chesterfield TUC.
