A GENEROUS £90,000 donation by Ripley Hospital League of Friends has seen new X-ray equipment at the Sandham Lane hospital.

Superintendent radiographer Phil Thornhill, from Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust which runs Ripley Community Hospital, said: “This fantastic new equipment will help us improve the quality of the service we can provide for local patients at Ripley.

“Our current X-ray equipment was overdue for replacement so we are incredibly grateful to the League of Friends for funding this total refurbishment.”

The new X-ray will be able to cater for patients up to 32 stone in weight compared to the previous machine, which had a limit of 24 stone.
