CHARITABLE youngsters at Mill Hill School in Ripley have donated everything from toasters to tinned soup in order to help Derbyshire’s homeless.

Pupils and staff at the Peasehill school spent weeks collecting items to give to Derby-based Derventio Housing Trust. The pupils decorated boxes for the gifts to go in before they were handed over to the charity.

Trust representative Jackie Carpenter was thrilled at the school’s efforts. She said: “Can I just say, how humbled we were by the splendid generosity of the pupils and parents at Mill Hill School. Our residents were so touched.”
