A man was assaulted on Heanor Market Place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 20-year-old man from Heanor was walking from Hands Road near to the Crown Inn, at around 1.40am, when he was approached by three men.
One of the men approached him and pulled him to the floor and then bit him on the chest.
The 20-year-old was not seriously injured but his face was also marked.
The victim described his assailant as a white male, around six ft two ins tall, in his early 30s, and wearing a grey jacket.
