Adult inpatients at Derby’s hospitals can now find all the key information they need to know about their stay in a newly created bedside folder.
The folder is part of the welcome for patients to the general adult wards and units at the Royal Derby Hospital.
The bedside folders have been developed in conjunction with staff at many levels across the Trust and using feedback from patients. The folders are full of useful information to help patients, and their visitors, during their hospital stay.
A folder is kept next to each general adult bed for patients and visitors to read as they wish.
Emma Pritty, patient information coordinator, said: “At Derby Hospitals we always put the needs of our patients first and we are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure they have the best experience possible while they are a patient at one of our hospitals.
“We used public and staff feedback as a starting point for what information should be included in the folder and what information would benefit patients and visitors. We hope patients and visitors will find the folders both interesting and useful.”
The folders are A5 ring binders and both the folders and the pages inside have been produced so that they can be wiped clean. They have been designed and printed by RNS Publications and are subsidised by advertising. This means that the folders are free to the Trust.
