PLANS to build a 5,575sq metre storage unit at Denby Hall industrial estate have been given the go-ahead by Amber Valley Borough Council’s planning board.
Applicants HL Plastics say the new facility will reduce the number of lorry movements on Derby Road by having a storage facility on site.
Denby and Marehay residents living nearby were concerned the new building would see an increase in forklift truck movements and noise at the plastics manufacturing plant, which has already been the subject of several noise pollution complaints.
Planning board members gave the green light to the plan, providing a sound-reducing acoustic barrier is built to the north of the site by the developers. It had already attained outline permission.
Cllr Alan Cox said: “It is considered the noise complaints will continue – I welcome the application being revised in respect of that.”
