A VILLAGE group have scored some top support from some big names in sport.

A group of Winster residents raising funds to provide a new outdoor play area for village children and visitors as part of a Jubilee project have been donated autographed football shirts from Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

They are now being auctioned on Ebay under the item numbers 120903831443 for the United shirt, 120903837331 for Wednesday and 120903778770 for Forest.

A fourth shirt that has excited a lot of interest is an official England Test Match shirt autographed by top spin bowler Graeme Swann, making it a collector’s item.

Geoff Lester, whose wife is one of the fund-raisers, said: “Unlike one-day or 20/20 shirts, Test Match shirts do not have the player’s full name.

“Instead they have the cap number beneath the badge.”

The Ebay item number is 120903786200.

All the auctions finish on May 7.
