Buxton Festival is offering an opportunity for a recent graduate, seeking practical experience in the events or arts industry, to work as a literary series assistant at the Festival in July.
The placement will run from 5 – 25 July in Buxton. Simple accommodation and expenses will be provided.
Claire Rhodes, development manager at Buxton Festival, said: “Being a Festival Assistant can be a hugely rewarding experience that can help graduates on their way to a great job in the arts.
“Previous festival assistants have gone on to work in some great places including Wembley Arena, The Lowry Theatre and Buxton Festival! But it is also very hard work. We are looking for a motivated, professional person, preferably with an interest in literature, who will thrive on the long days, variety of roles and pressure of the Festival.’
Duties involved in the role include front-of -house work, event stewarding, technical set-up for events (e.g. laptop and projector set-up), audience microphones for Q&A sessions, assisting with book-sales after events and meeting and greeting speakers and VIPs.
Applicants should send a CV and covering letter to email@example.com before March 30, 2012.
