A STUNNING garden in Horsley Woodhouse opened its gates for a charity fundraiser — and raised £798.

Alison Napier welcomed 174 visitors to her beautiful hilltop garden at 9 Main Street on Sunday, August 7.

It was all to raise cash for the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) initiative.

Alison said: “It was fantastic, it went really well.”

The teas for the event were provided by a Horsley-based group that raises funds for the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

Alison added: “The group said they had their best fundraiser ever.”

In a piece on the NGS website, Alison described her garden as a “third of an acre hilltop garden overlooking a lovely farmland view”. Features include a large wildlife pond and a bog garden.
