Pupils at Waingroves Primary School have plenty to smile about after receiving funding for a new outdoor learning garden.

The year two pupils at the school spent lessons drawing up plans to renovate the school’s garden before submitting their creations to Storthfield House Hospital in South Normanton asking for some financial support to buy what they needed.

Hospital manager, Charles Stima, was so impressed with their plans and letters that they presented the class with a £500 cheque for the equipment. The new garden will be known as ‘the Quad’.

Head teacher, Armarjeet Challand, said: “We were absolutely delighted.”
