A host of military vehicles and weapons formed the main attraction at a Ripley Royal British Legion fundraiser to mark Armed Forced Day.
A total of £924 was raised at the Sir Barnes Wallis pub on Saturday through tombola games and a barbecue. Willing volunteers took to a set of stocks and faced a barrage of wet sponges to further the fund.
County recruiting officer for the Royal British Legion and organiser Aaron Shelton said the day was a great success: “I would just like to thank the Ripley community for their support,” he added. “It was absolutely fantastic.”
