The Alfreton Fundraising Group for Marie Curie are inviting big-hearted football fans to enter a charity auction with a family pass to see Alfreton Town FC up for grabs.

Karen Lilley, founder of the group, said: “We have very kindly been given a family pass for two adults and two children, from Alfreton Town FC for from the remaining four home match fixtures this season. However, we don’t have any events soon whereby we can raffle it on the day.”

Karen founded the group along with her mother Marjorie Brocklehurst and her daughter Rosie. They were inspired to form the group after Marjorie’s husband, John, died in November, 2008. The group recently received a generous donation of £1,300 from the staff and owners of David Nieper, the Alfreton-based manufacturer and designer of women’s clothes. People are invited to contact Karen by email at kaz71sky@googlemail.com and make a bid for the ticket, Karen added: “It would be a shame not to be able to raise something for the pass as we rely on every penny.”
