In 1958 Bill was promoted to farm manager of the whole of Butterley Farms – which owned around about 2,000 acres at the time.

In 1963, Bill took over the Golden Valley land and won several farming awards for his prize cows over the years.

When the Milk Marketing Board disbanded in 1994 - he set up his own milk round in the area.

From the early 2000s the Woollacott’s began to grow wheat, before moving to miscanthus in recent years.
