A PARISH church is due to host its first ever flower festival at the end of September.
The theme for the inaugural festival at St Susanna’s church in the village is the saying, “we are here for you” and will feature a weekend of floral art displays created by church members and various groups from within the village.
There will also be singing performances from Horsley Woodhouse Primary School and bread making displays by the Heage Windmill association over the weekend.
The church will be open 11am until 7pm on Friday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1. On Sunday, October 2, doors will close at 5.30pm. Some of the demonstrations will cost £3.
The festival will close with a traditional Harvest service in the church at 6.30pm.
