Numerous homes were hit by floodwater last night after torrential rains drenched the county.
One of the hardest hit street was Bridle Lane in Lower Hartshay. Firefighters were called to the street at around 7pm yesterday and used a mobile pumping unit to clear the interior of at up to 10 houses through the evening.
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue said they received calls through the evening to flooding in Heage, Woodville, Swadlingcote, Church Gresley, Bolsover, Stony Houghton, all up until 8am this morning (Thursday, June 16).
A spokesperson said: "We had crews from Alfreton, Ripley and Crich using a light portable pump to pump out water, and residents were helping with buckets to get rid of water.
"Up to 10 houses were affected by flood water."
And with more floods expected today, they asked residents to heed advice and exercise caution when travelling for the next few days.
"Don't ignore any road closure signs and don't try to drive through any flood water. If flood water does enter your property there's information on our website about what to do in an emergency."
