A flood warning is in place along the River Erewash - with Pinxton and Langley Mill possibly affected.
The Environment Agency has released the warning following a night of heavy rains and high winds up to 80mph in parts of Britain,
The agency website says that flooding of low-lying agricultural land and roads continues along the river.
Areas likely to be affected are the Pinxton Wharf access road, Langley Mill and Ilkeston,
The agency says current level at the Pinxton river gauge is 0.24 metres but river levels are currently beginning to rise in response to rainfall overnight.
