Organisers of a Christmas fair to raise money for grieving parents were pleased after the event made £2,000.

More than 300 people attended the event at Lumb Farm in Marehay on Sunday which saw monies raised for the Still Birth and Neo-Natal Death Society (SANDS) as organiser Katie Dowler, of Poppyfields in the village, suffered the tragic loss of her unborn son Jonah in May.

Around 40 people took part in a candlelit walk from Ripley Market Place to Lumb Farm as part of the event, which featured live bands, stalls and a visit from Santa.

Katie said: “I’m really pleased how the day went I couldn’t have asked for better.”
