A VOLUNTEER at Heage windmill holds one of this year’s entries in the annual St Luke’s Church flower festival.

All the entrants were asked to depict a passage from the King James Bible, with plenty of colourful offerings being displayed throughout the church itself and at the nearby working mill over the weekend. Events organiser at the tourist attraction, Lynn Allen, called the displays ‘really beautiful’. She added: “It was a bit rainy on Saturday, but Sunday was very nice and plenty of people came to see the displays.”

Currently the mill requires volunteers to help out running the attraction at the weekend. For more information contact Lynn on 01773 715 177 or call in at the mill.
