Twelve youngsters, aged between ten and 13, made £180 by descending St Andrews Church on Station Road, Langley Mill over a two-and-a-half hour period on Saturday. Erewash 1st Scouts leader David Coates, said: “There were a coupe of scary moments, but they were all so brave, it was fantastic.” David thanked St Andrew’s church members for their help on the day, as they provided refreshments to the youngsters and those watching on from below . The abseiling event at the 18 metre building was also held as one of many events to mark its 100th anniversary this year.
