A LUCKY Matlock man has picked up an egg-stra special Easter treat after winning a Fairtrade competition.

Michael Bunting, of Hazel Court, won a Fairtrade Easter egg courtesy of Co-op, in Firs Parade, Matlock, after correctly answering ‘one in three’ to the question ‘what is the proportion of women cocoa farmers in Kuapa Kokoo Cooperative?’

The competition was featured in the Mercury as part of this year’s annual Fairtrade Fortnight, held to promote Fairtrade goods in Matlock.

The 64-year-old was delighted with his prize, which he plans to give to a child he knows.

He said: “I do enter quite a few competitions in the Matlock Mercury.

“This isn’t the first time I have won.

“I won a Fairtrade hamper last year or the year before.”

Michael is now retired, but during his working life was a technical dyer.

He said he enjoys eating Fairtrade goods.
