Plans to increase the size of Sainsbury’s in Matlock have been delayed due to the company’s need to work through minor “legal agreements”.
The supermarket giant had planning permission in June last year to increase the size of the new store.
Work is still yet to start, but a spokesperson for Sainsbury’s PR consultants, Gough Bailey Wright, said that the delays are not unusual, but could not give a time scale as to when the work would begin.
The plans will see the store increase in size by 50 per cent and a single deck added over the existing car park.
It is estimated that up to 80 new jobs will be created by the scheme.
