A LONG-SERVING member of the Heage Band celebrated 52 years of service.
Baritone euphonium player Eric Waring was given a dinner at the Black Horse Inn, in Hulland Ward, on November 26.
Conductor Tomas Haydn Street said: “We bought him a wrist watch to remind him of the time and his wife was presented with orchids for putting up with him! He came to the band when he was in short trousers, aged 13, with his music teacher. He’s still very energetic and involved with the band. We shouldn’t have given him anything!”
Mr Street, says anyone interested in joining the brass band should call 01773 822869.
