EMAS issue water warning

EAST Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) is urging people to take extra care in and around open water during the school holidays.

Every year EMAS is called to incidents where people have required emergency medical attention after swimming in rivers, reservoirs, ponds, quarries, lakes or canals.

David Williams, of EMAS, said: “Our local waterways are popular destinations, but they can be dangerous.”
