The Institute of Physics visited Aldercar Language College to promote the importance of science.

Groups from years nine and ten set off hydrogen bombs, did optical illusions showing how the eye worked and used a smoke-ring machine to highlight how smoke travels through the air.

Science teacher Hayden Waite said the workshop was ‘very positively received’ and he hoped it would encourage more year nine pupils to pick triple science as a GCSE option.
