CHARITABLE youngsters have helped raise £400 for adults with special needs through a Christmas appeal this December.
The year seven pupils at John Flamsteed Community School in Denby organised a collection of gifts and donations to be raffled and took part in a non-uniform day.
All the proceeds are being given to the Winchester club, a Derby charity which provides activities and trips for adults with additional needs.
And to boot, the secondary school pupils collected an impressive four sacks full of hand-wrapped presents to give to the charity on Monday.
There were also presents left over from the collection which were donated to Derby Children’s Hospital.
Headteacher Danny Holden said of the pupils this week: “It’s a superb effort from the students, an overwhelming response to the causes.”
