GOVERNMENT inspectors have given the Sandham Lane Nursery in Ripley top marks for its achievement and found children “excited” about learning and motivated to try new things.
The inspectors from Ofsted gave the 113-pupil nursery the highest rating – Grade 1 – in almost every area for outstanding performance.
Headteacher Cathy Naim said: “We pride ourselves on our excellent teaching and caring ethos and our children, who are a credit to the school and the local community.”
Chairman of governors Isobel Harry said the whole nursery was “over the moon”. She said: “We know we have an excellent nursery which offers children an exceptional start to their school careers. To have it acknowledged by the inspectors, who gave us such an outstanding report, is amazing and we are all very, pleased.”
