a NEW £190,000 gym at Frederick Gent School in South Normanton opened to the public this week.

Called Agile, it replaces an underused music court and features the latest equipment. It will be available for community use after the school has closed and at weekends.

British Cycling chief executive Ian Drake, who taught at the school in the 1990’s, said: “To have this facility is truly amazing.

“The concept of having a school site with a gym is fantastic as it is not just provision for the students, but the whole community.”
